北京时间6月18日消息，微软本周将移动通信部门（Mobile Communications Business (MCB) ）更名为Windows Phone部门（Windows Phone Division）。
最近，微软高管安迪·利兹（Andy Lees）修改了自己的个人简介，他现在是Windows Phone部门的总裁，而在过去他的介绍是MCB总裁。
微软新闻发言人说，移动通信部门和Windows Phone部门只是名字上有差别，功能并没有不同。
尽管如此，改名还是引起一些新疑问。例如，在过去微软移动技术的主要部门是娱乐和设备部门（ Entertainment and Devices Division），它也是微软五大业务部之一。移动通信部门属于娱乐和设备部门。在改名之后不知道这种架构是否依然如此。
对此微软新闻发言人说暂时没有什么可以“分享”的。
不久前，微软刚对娱乐和设备部门的移动业务进行重组，成立了移动通信部门和Windows嵌入部门（Windows Embedded Business）。移动通信部门主管Windows Phone和消费市场，而Windows嵌入部门主攻商业和产业手持设备。
